昔から「春眠暁を覚えず」なんて言いますが、すっかり暖かくなってきて春を感じる今日この頃。つい二度寝してしまったり、陽だまりでウトウトしてしまったり、なんて方もいらっしゃるんじゃないでしょうか。(自分もです！)

そもそもFACE RECORDS ONLINE SHOPの在庫を見ると、ジャンルのタグが「Jazz」「Rock」などいくつかに分かれていて、その中の一つに「Electronic」があります。「ロックとかジャズは分かるけれど、エレクトロニックはざっくりし過ぎて分からないよ」という方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、ここでは「テクノ」「ハウス」「アンビエント」などのクラブ・ミュージックに類するものをメインとしているとお考えください。

As the old saying goes “In spring one sleeps a sleep that knows no dawn.” and now that the weather is getting warmer, it feels like spring. I am sure there are those of you who have fallen asleep twice in the morning, or may even fall asleep in the sunny spot during the daytime. (Of course, I am one of them!)

As the fifth installment of the “FACE RECORDS ONLINE SHOP Special Selection Episode”, which has been very well received thanksfully, we are pleased to present the “Electronic” section.

To begin with, if you look at the FACE RECORDS ONLINE SHOP inventory, the genre tags are divided into several categories such as “Jazz” and “Rock” and so on, one of which is “Electronic”. Some might say, “I understand “Rock” and “Jazz”, but “Electronic” is too roughly”, but please consider that we are mainly concerned with “Techno”, “House”, “Ambient”, and other types of club music.

This time, we will be presenting “Electronic” music that is dignified and suitable for spring scenes or for relaxing at home.

「GAS」
ドイツのクラブ系名門レーベル《KOMPAKT》の創始者であるウォルフガング・フォイトのプロジェクト、GASによる超傑作1stアルバム。霞がかったホワイトノイズを塗り固めたようなA面から、美しいアンビエンスにシンプルなイーブン・キックが入ってくるB面の流れは神がかっていて、まさしく天上の音楽。美しい桜吹雪の映像が頭に浮かびます。
This is the first album and the masterpiece by GAS, a project of Wolfgang Voigt, co-founder of the prestigious German club label “KOMPAKT”. The flow from the A-side, with hazy white noise coated to the B-side, with its beautiful ambience and simple even kicks, is divine, truly heavenly music. Images of beautiful Japanese cherry blossom snowstorms come to mind.

This is the third album from “WARP”, which has proved that BOC, which played a part in the rise of electronica from the late 90’s to the 00’s, is more than just a part of it. From nostalgic breakbeats to dreamy downtempo and ambient shoegaze, this is a psychedelic and beautiful electronic sound picture scroll that suits the spring sunshine.

イタリアの名テクノ・プロデューサーが、満を持して発表した自身初となるフル・アルバム。そこかしこにグッとくる瞬間がある佇まいは、さながら〈2010年代のアンビエント・ワークス〉？　穏やかなドローン・シンセと微細なリズムが合致した静謐で美しいアンビエント・サウンドが、春のまどろみに溶けていきます。
The Italian master techno producer released his first full-length album in 2010. The sound, with emotional moments here and there, is like ＜Ambient Works of the 2010s＞? Calm drone synths and subtle rhythms match to create a serene and beautiful ambient sound that melts into the slumber of spring.

00年代前半にAKUFEN名義で躍動したカナダの才人が、長き沈黙の後に放った13年作アルバム。滑らかなグルーヴとジャジーでストレンジな味わいがクセになる極上のクリック・ハウスが、新しい季節のざわめきを落ち着かせてくれます。
The Canadian genius, known in the early 00’s under the name AKUFEN, released this album in 2013 after a long period of silence. The smooth grooves and jazzy, strangely addictive flavor of this superb click house will calm the buzz of the new season.

日本でも高い人気を誇るドイツ人アーティスト／プロデューサーによる3rdアルバム。シンフォニックでドリーミーなエレクトロニカ・サウンドとシューゲイズなギターが抜群にマッチ。何曲かで聴ける囁くようなヴォーカルも相まって生み出される、恍惚の音世界。春のきらめきや清涼感には、こんなアルバムが似合います。
This is the 3rd album by a German artist/producer who is very popular in Japan. The symphonic, dreamy electronica sound and shoegaze guitars are an excellent match. The whispering vocals heard on some songs combine to create a trancy and sparkling sounds. This is the kind of album that goes well with the brightness and coolness of spring.

YOSHINORI SUNAHARA
「TAKE OFF AND LANDING」
電気グルーヴ在籍時の98年にリリースされたソロ2ndアルバム。ドイツの人気レーベル《BUNGALOW》のカラーにも合ったラウンジやモンドの要素を取り入れたブレイクビーツ～テクノ・サウンドが最高で、今聴いても余裕でカッコいいです。疾走感溢れるミニマル・ハウス風味なA3とC3が最高にキラー。これ聴いて、春の脳内トリップを！
Solo 2ND album released in 1998 during his tenure with Denki Groove. The breakbeats to techno sound with elements of lounge and mondo, which fits the color of the German label “BUNGALOW” is great, and it is still cool enough to listen to now. A3 and C3, which have a minimal house flavor with a sense of speed, are the most killer tune. Listen to this one, and get your spring brain trip on!

JON HOPKINS
「IMMUNITY」
映画音楽などでも辣腕をふるう匠のUKのミュージシャン／プロデューサーによる13年リリースの代表作。硬いビートにエレクトロニカ的美麗さと加工したグリッチ・ノイズを塗したサウンドは唯一無二。うっすらと鳴るピアノの音色が余韻を残すミニマルB1、サーフェスノイズの向こうからアンビエンスが浮かび上がるC1等、眠れない春の夜長にヘッドホンで聴きたい一枚。
A masterpiece released in 2013 by a UK musician/producer who is also a shrewd film musician. The sound is one-of-a-kind, with hard beats coated with electronica-like beauty and processed glitch noise. The minimal techno B1, with its lingering piano tone, and C1, with its ambience emerging from behind the surface noise, make this a piece to listen to with headphones on a long, sleepless spring night.
